What do I do if my SEPTA Key Card is linked to a different partner program?

What it means when your SEPTA Key Card is already enrolled in another partner program, and how to fix it.

We regularly check with SEPTA to make sure we can load the Key Advantage pass onto your Key Card at the end of each month. One issue that prevents us from doing so is when a Key Card is already linked to a different partner program.

What does it mean?

It means that you entered a Card Reference ID for a Key Card that is linked to another partner program, likely through another employer. We cannot load the Key Advantage pass to a Key Card that is already set up under a different program.

How do I fix it?

You can either...

  1. Contact your (previous) employer and request to be removed from that partner program

    OR

  2. Obtain and register a new SEPTA Key Card, and update your Jawnt account with the new Card Reference ID.

If you opt for #2, please follow the steps below:

  1. Obtain and register a new SEPTA Key Card.

    1. For help doing this, please click here.

  2. Once registered, Copy your new card's Reference ID from your SEPTAKey.org account (you will need this for Step 5).

    1. If you need help finding your new Card Reference ID, click here.

  3. Login to your Jawnt account at app.jawntpass.com.

  4. Click Edit under the SEPTA Key Advantage enrolled benefit.

  5. Scroll down to the Details section and click Card Reference ID.

  6. Erase the old Card Reference ID and Paste your new Card Reference ID (which you had copied in Step 2 above).

  7. Click Save.

  8. You should now see your new Card Reference ID under the Details section.

    1. Please take note of the date that these changes will go into effect.

  9. Click Update enrollment on the bottom of the page.

  10. This will bring you back to the My Benefits page, where you can see the status of the changes you have made.


How will I know if my new Card Reference ID is accepted?

  • If there is still an issue with your enrollment, you will receive an email from us within 1-2 business days.

  • If you do not hear from us, then you're all set! Look out for an email from us at the end of the month confirming that the pass has been loaded to your card.
