Why does my Jawnt Pass have a maximum balance?

If your Jawnt Pass is funded with pre-tax income, your employer may have chosen to set a maximum allowable balance. When income is set aside pre-tax for use as a transit benefit, it must be spent while the employee is active with their employer. This income cannot be transferred or spent once the employee leaves, and must be transferred back to the employer. To prevent employees from leaving unspent funds behind, many employers choose to set account maximums.
