When you enroll in an Amtrak pass through Jawnt, you are locking in a set price for the ride. But, to make sure you have a seat, Amtrak recommends that you reserve your seat on the train by purchasing a ticket with your Reservation Number.
How do I reserve my seat?
Once you've enrolled in your monthly or 10-ride pass, and before your activation date, you will receive an email with your Reservation Number. This will be a six-digit code (like “123JAW”).
To book a seat online:
Open the Amtrak website (amtrak.com) or the Amtrak mobile app.
Click “My Trip”. On desktop this will be a button near the top right corner of the screen. In the app or on the mobile website, this will be an option in the menu. Once clicked, the “Find Trip” prompt will appear.
Enter your Reservation Number and select how you would like to verify yourself: we recommend "Last Name". Click “Find Trip” to confirm. The Reservation screen will appear.
Note: if you select "Email", you may need to use either a) [email protected] or b) email address you entered during enrollment to verify.
Under Ticket Tools, select “Find Trains”. The page will refresh and show a trip selector.
The first and last stop will be set, but you can change direction or select Round Trip. Click the date under “Select Date”, and then click “Find Trains”. A list of available trains will appear.
Select the train you want to ride, and click the “Confirm” button. This will book your train ride, and you will receive a confirmation and PDF ticket by email.
Enjoy the ride! Use the mobile app or bring your ticket when you take your trip to find your seat and confirm it with the conductor.
