Next steps after enrolling
If you choose to receive a physical Jawnt Pass, we’ll ship your Jawnt Pass debit card to the mailing address you entered in Jawnt during enrollment. We’ll notify you when it’s on its way, and again when it’s due to arrive.
Once you receive your Jawnt Pass, follow these steps so you can start using your debit card once it’s funded:
Activate your card by logging in to Jawnt and going to Jawnt Pass, then Manage card
Follow the instructions to activate your card and set a PIN
If you’re purchasing a monthly pass from the MBTA, be sure to note the important deadlines below
At the beginning of the next month, start using your Jawnt Pass!
Timeline for transit benefits
If you plan to use Jawnt Pass to purchase monthly transit passes online, please note these important deadlines to ensure you can start riding on the 1st of the next month:
The deadline to enroll or submit changes to your contribution in Jawnt is the 4th of the month.
If this is your first time enrolling, you’ll receive your Jawnt Pass in the mail within 7 business days. Make sure to activate your card before making any purchases with it!
The deadline to purchase your monthly transit pass online is the 22nd of the month.
Once you receive your monthly transit pass in the mail, you can start using it for the new month.
If you choose to purchase a monthly pass at a fare vending machine or retail location, you can purchase your pass any time between the 22nd (after your Jawnt Pass is funded) and the end of the month.
