Have you accumulated a balance of funds in your Jawnt Pass pre-tax transit account that now you’d like to use for parking? Or vice versa? The IRS recently clarified its guidance to allow commuters to move money between pre-tax parking and transit accounts. This article outlines the steps necessary to initiate a funds transfer.
1. Confirm that the funds are available in your account.
Log into your Jawnt account at https://app.jawntpass.com. Review your balance in both your transit and parking accounts.
In the example below, Charlie has $350.17 in his parking account and $17.50 in his transit account. Charlie wants to move $300 from his parking account into his transit account.
2. Contact Jawnt Customer Support and request your transfer.
There are three ways to contact Jawnt. Between 9 AM and 5 PM on weekdays, you will be immediately connected to a human member of our support team. Outside of these hours, your message will be recorded and delivered to our staff at the start of the next weekday.
Click the orange chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will launch a chat pop-up.
Send us an email at [email protected].
Give us a call or text us at 267-762-2694.
3. Let us know what transfer you would like to make.
Using the example above, Charlie might send the following message:
Hello, please move $300 from my parking account into my transit account.
Jawnt’s team initiates the redirect immediately. Expect to see the redirect reflected in your account balances within five business days.
Note that there are a few limits on how funds can be redirected.
Each accountholder can only request one redirect per month.
There is a $1000 limit to each redirect.
If you want to redirect more than $1000, request $1000 in the first month, and additional funds in a second request the next month.
If you need additional help with this process, please contact Jawnt Support.
